Roll back the years with Microneedling

Posted October 23, 2018 in Microneedling

As a non-surgical option for looking younger and healthier, microneedling may be for you.   Microneedling rejuvenates aging, discolored, and scarred skin by a series of micro injuries that stimulate the body’s natural wound healing process. This results in the increased production of collagen and elastin which leave your complexion looking healthier and younger!

  • Non-surgical

The Procedure:

Microneedling is the process of creating tiny wounds in the top layer of the skin to break up the blood vessels just below the surface. First, an anesthetic ointment is applied to the skin leaving you relaxed during the process. Then micropunctures are created using microneedles which produce a controlled skin injury without damaging the epidermis.  These micro injuries set up a wound-healing surge that increases the skin’s production of collagen and elastin so that your skin can repair itself. This results in tighter, softer and smoother skin than you’d ever hope without surgery.  This simple office-based procedure can be done in as little as 20 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

Recovery and results:

It is common for patients to have a pink undertone to their skin for about 24 to 48 hours after a microneedling treatment. Making sure the skin stays hydrated will maximize results and soothe any skin discomfort. Once the redness is gone, you will begin to notice a more youthful, vibrant, and even skin tone.
