Dermal fillers look best when the treatment plan is designed specifically for the patient and is a reflection of seeking facial balance based on their features. A consultation is a crucial first step, as you’ll meet with your nurse injector, who will listen to your goals and examine your face in order to make a plan. They will recommend a filler type and specific amount based on your needs. They will also check your medical history and ensure you don’t have any allergies to the fillers or their active ingredients, discuss risks and benefits, and potential results.
How to Prepare for Dermal Filler Injections
Before your dermal filler appointment, we recommend avoiding blood-thinning medications and alcohol, as they increase your risk of bruising. Pause using retinoids and harsh exfoliants for a few days prior, as they increase sensitivity. Come to your appointment with clean, makeup-free skin, and stay hydrated.
What Are the Dermal Filler Procedure Steps?
- Your nurse injector will clean and prep your skin, removing any residual makeup or lotions.
- A topical anesthetic will be applied to the treatment area and left to take effect, usually within about 30 minutes.
