Vectra 3D

August 17th, 2011

Vectra 3D is changing the way plastic surgeons do consultations!

With Vectra 3D, patients are able to see their plastic surgery results on their own body in 3D before the surgery. After taking a set of pictures, the patient and doctor can view the patient’s image in 3D together, and test different looks until they find exactly what the patient wants. Vectra 3D allows patients to see exactly what they will look like and can head into surgery feeling confident about decisions they have made.

The Center for Plastic Surgery is the only office in Reno with this technology. Schedule a consultation today and see your results!

Dr. Bonaldi at Center for Plastic Surgery is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the largest plastic surgery specialty organization in the world. The society, founded in 1931 is composed of board-certified plastic surgeons who perform cosmetic and reconstructive surgery.

ASPS is dedicated to advance quality care to plastic surgery patients by encouraging high standards of training, ethics, physician practice and research in plastic surgery. The society advocates for patient safety, such as requiring its members to operate in accredited surgical facilities that have passed rigorous external review of equipment and staffing.

The ASPS logo should be a key factor when deciding on a plastic surgeon as only members can display the symbol of excellence logo. It tells you that you are choosing a physician who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and have met certain criteria.

Are you ready?

Bathing suits, shorts and tank tops, the season’s almost here! No more covering up!

Spring cleaning is just around the corner; why not start with the pantry? The pantry is where most people store large supplies of non-PALEO food. If your pantry is similar to most others, you’ve got a lot of work to do! We suggest getting some cardboard boxes and filling them up with all of these items and donating them to your local food bank or charity. You can also get a tax write-off for it, now isn’t that nice?

Clear out any foods that contain sugar, artificial sweetener, wheat and high sodium. We’re sure you know the easy ones: cookies, crackers, chips, candy, etc.  Then go for all of the processed foods made with grains i.e. rice cakes, cornflakes, and taco shells. Don’t forget the rye, barley and oats. The final thing you should make sure to throw out: beans, lentils, dried peas, legumes and peanuts (almonds, walnuts and other nuts are OK in moderation, of course). You can keep the canned tuna and salmon. Use them in salads or omelets, or get creative and make up your own PALEO recipe!

Phew! Now you can rest easy knowing you don’t have any of those foods to tempt you to cheat. Remember to place that teeny tiny bikini (or speedo!) in the front of your closet for motivation, and you’ll be unstoppable!

There are many options when it comes to choosing the breast implants that are right for you. One of those important decisions is whether the implant pockets are placed over or under the muscle.

For those with very small breasts and relatively thin skin, going under the chest muscle may be best option. This will provide more padding between the implant and the skin to ultimately provide a better cosmetic result. Also, for those with small breasts, the muscle may be needed to help cover the implant.

For those wanting to go to a much larger size (full D or larger) under the muscle may also be the better option especially if they have thin skin and little subcutaneous tissue.

For those wanting a more distinct cleavage line, over the muscle may be the better option. Here, the top edge of the implant extends up around the top of the breast to provide a more noticeable cleavage line.

The decision, along with all plastic surgeries, should be made along with your surgeon based on your anatomy and your preferences.

Ideal Candidate for Liposuction

February 15th, 2011

As with all cosmetic surgery procedures, ideal candidates for liposuction are in good overall health both physically and mentally, and have realistic expectations. The ideal candidate for liposuction is one who is no more than 20 pounds overweight.  Ideal candidates are those who have tried diet and exercise and still have bulging or flabby areas on your body in areas such as the abdomen, arms, thighs and neck.

Fat deposits accumulate under everyone’s skin and for some, even those who are physically fit, these deposits can persist. Liposuction may be the solution. People with very localized, exercise-resistant fatty deposits may obtain the best results.

Your skin also plays a role in whether you are an ideal candidate. You should have healthy skin with good elasticity, so that your skin is able to bounce back to its former tightness once the fat is removed.

Beautiful with Botox

January 25th, 2011

My very favorite non surgical cosmetic procedure is Botox Cosmetic.

Some of the lines in our face can be misinterpreted as fear, anger, aging and fatigue.  Where lines, wrinkles and folds are caused by the muscle action, Botox Cosmetic can be used to relax the dynamic effects of the muscles giving you a smooth, youthful appearance. Botox is used in the forehead between the eyebrows to smooth the lines.  It can also be used in the crow’s feet, lines on the side of the nose, lips lines and neck bands.

Botox is a purified, naturally occurring chemical which helps soften or eliminate facial lines by blocking the nerve impulse to the muscle that causes the wrinkle. Botox is safe and effective, lasting three to four months.

I would be happy to see you for a complimentary consultation about Botox Cosmetic and other non-surgical options.
